Dallas-based bed maker Corsicana Mattress Co. has hired James Booth as chief operating officer.
Booth has a background in operations and logistics for a number of consumer brands. He joined Corsicana from VF Corp. where he spent close to a decade, most recently as vice president of global operation excellence. He oversaw brands such as The North Face, Timberland and Vans. Prior to that, he worked for Heritage Home Group as vice president of supply chain and general manager of the company’s operations in Mexico. Other past employers include Newell Rubbermaid, Chamberlain Group, Ford Motor Co. and Springs Window Fashions. He is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
He travels regularly to the company’s network of manufacturing plants and is responsible for oversight of a multimillion-dollar capital campaign to upgrade all plants and equipment, a news release said.
Booth is based at Corsicana’s Dallas headquarters and reports to Chief Executive Officer Michael Thompson.

We have the resources and expertise to put those elements in place quickly.”
Corsicana was founded in 1971 in Corsicana, Texas, by Gail and Harold Moran. Its current majority owner is private equity firm Long Point Capital.
