Select Tuft & Needle products will now feature antimicrobial* protection by HeiQ to protect mattresses against contamination from microbes and odor-causing bacteria
PHOENIX (Nov. 30, 2020) – Tuft & Needle announced that it will incorporate antimicrobial technology by HeiQ into its Mint and Original mattresses available online as of today. The Tuft & Needle brand is housed under the Serta Simmons Bedding (SSB) portfolio, which announced a partnership with HeiQ Group, a leading Swiss textile-innovation firm, earlier this year.
With HeiQ’s antimicrobial protection, Tuft & Needle’s Mint and Original mattresses are equipped to attract harmful bacteria, then break it down and kill it to prevent unpleasant odors and deterioration. The exclusive technology, originally developed to treat personal protective equipment, is embedded into the mattress cover at the time of textile manufacturing, meaning it has better longevity than typical post-manufacturing spray-on cleaning solutions. It is available on the Mint mattress at no additional cost.

In July, SSB announced its partnership with Switzerland-based HeiQ Group, becoming the first company to bring HeiQ NPJ03 to the U.S. bedding industry. SSB has already confirmed this technology will be available on select Serta and Beautyrest mattresses and is currently pursuing approvals for antiviral properties through the U.S. Environmental Protection Administration.
