Hickory Springs Manufacturing, headquartered in Hickory, North Carolina, has named industry veteran Doug Guffey as director of sales for the company’s bedding products division.
Guffey joins Hickory Springs after 18 years with Corsicana Mattress Co., where he served as a national accounts executive. Prior to that, he was director of national accounts. He also served as president of Sleep Inc., a branded division of Corsicana Bedding. Additionally, he served as general manager of operations at Corsicana’s facility in Shelbyville, Tennessee.
Earlier in his career, Guffey was general manager of operations for Holder Mattress Co. in Kokomo, Indiana, and prior to that, plant manager for Spring Air’s franchises in Alabama and Indiana.
Guffey currently serves as chair of the Mattress Recycling Council. He joined the council’s board of directors in 2015, and he also served on the board of the International Sleep Products Association from 2013 to 2019.
In his new role, Guffey is responsible for all sales associates and product managers, as well as helping to bring new products to market. Guffey reports to Tim Witherell, vice president and general manager of Hickory Springs bedding products.
