More Corsicana mattresses now are for sale at military commissaries. The Dallas-based producer recently expanded its boxed bed offerings sold by the Army & Air Force Exchange Service from a single model to 25. Active and retired military and their families now can select from a full range of Corsicana brands, as well as a half dozen other U.S. mattress brands. Military exchanges offer tax-free, discount shopping for a wide range of goods.
Corsicana said its recent acquisition of Symbol Mattress enables it to better serve this under $1,000 price point, “which remains the most popular buying segment,” a Corsicana news release said.
“This extension is crucial to our effort to strengthen our bond with the American military,” said Michael Thompson, Corsicana chief executive officer. “It will also bolster our status as a handcrafted-in-the-USA manufacturer, highlighting both the care and craftsmanship we put into the manufacture of each of our mattresses and our gratitude to our military personnel, who risk their lives in serving our country.”
The company participated in the exchange’s Memorial Day and July Fourth promotions with print ads and social media activity.
